Sports

I know I write this post every month, but I have to give up on following sports teams.

I learned a lot playing sports, but watching, paying attention and caring about them has caused me nothing but grief. Making a BCS bowl or the playoffs is not enough. Past championships are not enough. Nothing is ever enough.

I learned that nothing is ever enough while playing sports. I do not need to be constantly reminded of it by watching sports.

glad to see this site back up.

seems like the lack of championships on a team that you're playing on keeps you moving-running sprints - motivated. the only 'enough' in sports is probably when you win the championship during your senior year or the last year of your career when you're one of he leaders. gues we've all realized those type of tiems are over for goods.

what really is more fun anyway - winning a championship - bowl game - whatever - or the long ride that took you there?

Failure is always motivation to get better. And in the end, the journey is always more important than the destination. But the lingering dissapointment of failure and the realization that success is very fleeting hurts.

One of the things I have learned from the good coaches that I have had is that "I have to define my success."

In sports, if a coach or a player or a team lets reporters or wins define his success, he will never be happy or successful.
