A Seminar Or A Circle Jerk

I sat in a public room built by public dollars. I was surrounded by public servants given public missions. I listened to a public man spouting a private idea. An idea that privately aroused him and his public fellows. I saw the private stimulation.

I wondered how the public would have felt. Because I felt dirty.

The public was established to help the a segement of the public. It was estabilished to protect the robber barons from other robber barons.

Let me restate. Public was established to help ensure the ability to have private ideas ie. protect those with private ideas.

Public money should fund my work that is beneficial to the public. If I think my dillusions of granduer are beneficial to the public, the state thinks so, and >50% of the public think so, then it would be ok for public to fund private interests. I personally don't want public money that I paid into to keep you on welfare either, but I didn't make that decision. The publicly elected legislature did.

And my point from my previous post is public is in place to ensure private liberties.

you make good points. But here's the issue. What's the alternative? If you ask me, democracy is the most represenative. Every (voter age/taxpaying)individual has the option to make a decision at some point along the process. IF you choose to vote and your candidate is elected, all you are electing is the person you think is best capable of making decisions for you. If you choose not to vote, then you lose your opportunity to have a say. If you then disagree with policy decisions, you have the option to wait until the next election or move to canada.

As far as the the ambiguities of policy making - that shit is prety fucked up - lot of bureaucrats and lawmakers get to make the decisions for the masses - but again - our role in this process is to vote and communicate with our lawmakers. Policymaking is organized chaos. It is a broad statement to say the public supports anything - but I don't know of any more representative options.

I bet Madison and Hamilton would like to get in on this blog.

I don't think my tax dollars should go to researching thailand or any other country that I'll never visit with citizens I don't care to be friends with.

The only truly represenative system would be in a country with one citizen.

I was going to comment, but I think everything has been said.
