"Adam Smith's enormous authority resides, in the end, in the same property that we discover Marx: not in any ideology, but in an effort to see to the bottom of things." Robert L. Heilbroner commenting on An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations-- We are no Adam Smith, but we are putting forth "an effort to see to the bottom of things."

I had the same problem. Our apartment complex is small (6 units) and often no one is around to sign for packages during the day. Unless its a huge box I just have it delivered to the office. There aren't a lot of benefits to being a grad student, but having an office where someone will sign for stuff sure is nice. Plus, if you around the office most days, you could just sign for it there.
